Hi, Eli. I feel that this article was written for me as it had a list of all the things I procrastinate about- I did enjoy reading all your tips and loved the formula for decreasing the anxiety and lightening the load by breaking it up.
Off I go to the gym today that I am paying monthly membership and not yet attending 👀
Wow Layla, it’s great to hear! I’m so glad my writing was impactful. And to be honest, I think we can all relate to that paid gym membership feeling…. Have a great workout!
Your study group solution highlights a paradox: sometimes the aversive task, like studying, becomes tolerable (even enjoyable?) when it’s a shared burden. It may seem like we feel better because we literally shared the load, but in reality, the relief comes from sharing the responsibility and the resulting internal tension. 🙃
Thanks for this comment, Mark! It’s amazing how powerful the shift is. Just using the formula to identify where the resistance is coming from has helped me get past some strong avoidance/procrastination.
Would love to hear back from you if you find it helpful!
This was such a refreshing take on procrastination! The “magic formula” hit me right in the gut — so simple, but revealing. I really appreciated the blend of honesty and humor here. Your writing has this way of making me feel seen and gently nudged forward.
Kate, thanks for taking the time to say this. Really, your comment at the end here is really meaningful, I might just print it out and hang it up somewhere to keep me going! ❤️

100%!!! Love your accurate analysis. It’s amazing to see the that comes from sharing the burden. I actually did a whole post on this, take a look!

I love how you said it’s not just the reframe but awareness that’s part of the solution.
Just taking a pause…
Listening to what’s truly in your heart…
Acknowledging what’s there…
Before reframing makes everything more heartfelt powerful and transformational.
